Belonging
Membership Transfer
Bringing your membership to Edmonton Central, or moving it elsewhere.
Moving your membership
If you are an Adventist moving to Edmonton, your church membership transfers between congregations rather than starting again. Your previous church releases it and Edmonton Central receives it, and both boards note the transfer.
The process is handled by the church clerk and normally takes a few weeks, because it moves at the pace of two boards meeting. You are welcome at every part of church life while it is in progress.
Send the form with your previous church and city, and the clerk will begin the request.
Common questions
How long does a transfer take?
Usually a few weeks. It moves at the pace of two church boards meeting, one to release the membership and one to receive it.
Can I take part while it is in progress?
Yes. You are welcome in every part of church life while the paperwork is moving.
What if I do not know which church holds my membership?
Send the form with whatever you remember, including the city. The clerk can usually trace it from there.
